Exploring Eastbourne and England
In late April, 62 expectant Year 4 students and 4 motivated teachers headed off to England’s sunshine coast and, more specifically, Eastbourne. A highlight for many was experiencing the special atmosphere of Brighton, the buzzing main city of the region. The brand new
i360 tower was great fun for all but a few students who don’t like heights!
Our day trip to London was, in spite of the marathon, a good introduction to one of the world’s most exciting metropolises. The South Bank walk gave us the opportunity to see many of the capital’s most renowned sights.
A personal favourite for me was the 18 kilometre coastal hike to Eastbourne over the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head. This jewel in England’s crown should be seen and walked by every lover of nature.
It was always a real pleasure to be in the company of such a polite and enthusiastic group – an absolute credit to Europagymnasium Baumgartenberg!
