The story of King George VI, his surprising ascension to the throne and the Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue, who helped him to overcome his stammer – this is the content of the outstanding film The King’s Speech, which won four Oscars in 2010 including Best Film and Best Actor.
On Monday, 24th October Year 5 students took part in King George’s quest to find his voice at the cinema in Perg, where they watched the friendship between the King and Logue grow and develop and admired Colin Firth’s brilliant performance.
