The hills are alive with the „Sound of Music“…….
On May 27th, 2009 class 5b accompanied by their English teacher as well as their headteacher indulged in the marvellous, heart-warming, exciting and highly informative "Sound of Music" tour in Salzburg. After an initial warming-up stroll in the old town we got on the bus and off we went.
A highly- enthusiastic British lady dressed in Dirndl (wearing braids) took us into the world of the world-famous movie about the legendary van Trapp family. During our bus ride along picturesque roads with stops at fascinating spots which provided the setting for the film, we listened to both the beloved melodies and valuable background information. On the whole, my students reported back to me that they really enjoyed this "real-life" experience after we had dealt with the movie and topic-related issues like clichés and stereotypical representation of countries and people the weeks before.
