One cannot not communicate
"One cannot not communicate" – this well-known axiom describing the very nature of human communication formed the theoretical basis for an in-depth treatment of the topic communication in class 8b. In the course of this session students had to familiarize themselves with four communicative models developped by Virginia Satir, Schulz von Thun, Eric Berne and Paul Watzlawik. The main conclusions and findings were finally presented in elaborate presentations and role plays that led to a closer understanding of the various components and strategies involved in successful human interaction. Furthermore, the use and application of NLP, i.e. Neuro Linguistic Programming, in human communication constituted an additional frame of reference for the students.Practise makes perfect! Accordingly, students were given an excellent opportunity to apply their knowledge guided and supervised by an expert in the field of communication and conflict management, Mag. Albert Davy. In his workshop covering two lessons students analysed patterns of communicative behaviour by applying the principles and concepts acquired in the previous lessons.
