Strange creatures at school
Witches, ghosts, bats and many other strange creatures appeared in the Year 2 classroom on 25th October 2006, only a few days before Hallowe'en. Wearing scary costumes and frightening make-up, the Year 2 pupils eagerly performed a variety of open learning activities on the topic "Autumn Festivals" which ranged from e-learning tasks to creative writing
, speaking, reading and listening exercises in pairs or groups. Traditional Hallowe'en games such as "bobbing the apple" and "fortune telling" were the highlights of the Hallowe'en party. In "bobbing the apple" the children tried to bite off an apple in a bowl of water, without using their hands. Some chose to have a bath instead! Finally, by throwing a long apple peel over their shoulders onto the floor and deciphering letters, a few pupils predicted their future husbands/wives and came up with some surprising names...
