Language Trip to Ireland
Between April 21st and 28th, 74 students from year 4, accompanied and supported by their teachers, Mrs Rafetseder, Mr Long, Mr Schützeneder, Mr Baumgartner and Mr Spannlang, spent an unforgettable language week in Malahide, Ireland.
We’d like to invite you to experience Ireland through the eyes of our students:
“My host family was very nice, especially the mother. She always asked if everything was okay. “
“The people in our host family always tried to make us feel comfortable and were very curious about Austria. “
“The host family cooked delicious food for us and their house was quite big. “
“At school our teacher was cheerful and did many different activities with us. “
“The cliffs in Howth are pretty impressive and you can take many beautiful pictures up there. “
“Our journey and the flight wasn‘t stressful at all, which was really good. “
“Dublin is a great city with lots of fantastic shops and singers. “
“I really enjoyed shopping on Grafton Street and bought many souvenirs. “
“The Irish dancing was so much better than I expected, and it was so funny that we laughed so much. “
“It was interesting to speak to native speakers and people from other countries at the ICE language school. “
“The evening walk in Portmarnock was great, the beach and the sea were stunning. “
“Malahide Castle was very interesting and its surroundings were fun to explore. The butterfly house was really cool. “
“I really enjoyed the EPIC museum because it was so interesting to learn about emigration. “
“The National History Museum was fun, but we didn’t have enough time to fully explore it. “
“The Irish people were really nice, except for one bus driver who wouldn‘t stop...“
“The evening walk was simply gorgeous. I enjoyed watching the sunset with my friends, we took so many photos and collected seashells. “
“The Irish people were nice but sometimes their accent was difficult to understand. “
“The teacher was super nice. “
“The Irish Dancing Workshop was my highlight of the week. Everyone was laughing and having fun. It was just amazing. “
“The best thing was watching our teachers trying to do the Irish Dancing. “
“I enjoyed playing football with Irish teens. “
