The Gruffalo
A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood,
A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.
“Where are you going to, little brown mouse?
Come and have lunch in my underground house.”
“It’s terribly kind of you, Fox, but no –
I’m going to have lunch with a Gruffalo.”
These are the first lines of the popular children’s book “The Gruffalo” which was first published in the UK in 1999 and has sold more than 13 million copies all around the world since.
The enchanting story by Julia Donaldson is styled with rhyme and follows the adventure of a mouse wandering through the forest. And, what does it encounter along the way?
This is what class 2c found out throughout their English POOL-session in March. From crosswords and wordsearches to listening and Kahoot activities, they discovered the Gruffalo’s world in a fun way. The highlights were watching the movie and finally slipping into the animals of the deep, dark wood themselves by acting out the story.
