Exchange Student Paula

My name is Paula Castillo Hi Espino, and I am an exchange student at Europagymnasium Baumgartenberg this year. I come from Mill Valley, California – a small town right across the Golden Gate from San Francisco, and I’m super excited to be here! I have wanted to go on an exchange ever since I was young, especially since I was lucky enough to watch my cousins have incredible experiences when they studied abroad.

I lived in Mexico until I was 7 years old and therefore have been raised in a bicultural household. However, the culture and style of life that I’ve experienced here in Austria is nothing like what I’ve been exposed to before, and in the month I’ve been here I have learned so much. Eurogym BGB is very different from an American public high school, but I have been loving it and I can’t wait for the rest of my time here.
