Local Climate Summit
How can you go green and save our planet?
Not only politicians are currently trying to agree on ways of saving our precious planet at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, but also students in class 6A have been wracking their brains on what each one of us can do to prevent the worst-case scenario from happening - namely the gradual demise of Mother Earth.
Their task was to create motivational, digital action-posters highlighting tiny steps which each one can take and which can be incorporated easily in our daily routine. Apart from “well-known” ideas like driving less, reducing plastic and saving energy, some groups reflected on less common fields of action such as the environmental impact of fast fashion, for example they created an appetite for “swishing parties” where people can meet and exchange clothes. Another group warned of “vampire plugs” which means waste of electricity while devices are in stand-by mode.
Finally, our summit including a panel discussion ended up with the essential realization that it is everybody's duty to live his / her personal interpretation of a sustainable lifestyle. Therefore, start now and act responsibly!
