Exchange Student

Hi, I’m Giulia, I’m sixteen years old and I come from Italy. I live in Fano, in Marche, a region in the centre of Italy and near the sea. I was born in Bari, in the South of Italy and I have lived in Urbino for ten years .
In Italy, I attend a Linguistic High School, where I study German, English and Spanish, but in my first year I attended the High School of Human Sciences. Now, I’m living in Au an der Donau, as an exchange student, to learn the German language, which is my favourite subject in school. I’m studing at the Europagymnasium in Baumgartenberg with my host siblings and I am going to stay here until the end of January. I live together with a family, that has decided to take care of me for the time I am in Austria.

I’m a tall girl with long, straight, brown hair and brown eyes. I’m a quiet person and a bit shy. So this experience is a tough challenge for me, but I’m sure it will make me more confident and independent.
In my spare time I like to go out with my friends, listen to music and do sports. I also love to travel and get to know different cultures and traditions, visit new cities and countries.
I have an older sister, Giorgia, who studies Biotechnology in Rome. My mum, Enza, is a secretary and my dad, Daniele, works in a computer company. I enjoy spending time with my family and go on trips with them, because we always have a lot of fun together. A thing that I really like to do, if I don’t have a lot of homework, is going out with my mum during the afternoons and go shopping with her. She is a positive person and she always manages to get me into a good mood.
In my life, friends are extremely important, they make me happy and carefree. I like talking and laughing with them. My favourite season is summer, because I can go to the beach everday, do voluntary work at the kid’s education camp, or go out every night and travel to different places. I hope to have a good time here in Upper Austria, meet new friends, learn more about the culture and improve my language skills.
