Afternoon Tea

Fluffy American Pancakes with Maple Syrup, Fruit Scones with Strawberry Jam and Clotted Cream, Apple Crumble and Raspberry Cheese Cake – these were the delicious desserts the WPG English students of Year 7 eagerly created themselves in our afternoon tea cooking session.
Not only did we follow the original recipes with precision, enthusiasm and some creative spontaneity, our typical puddings were of course enjoyed the perfect English way: accompanied by original English tea, naturally served with milk. By doing this we delved into a long-standing English tradition: Afternoon Tea – a British custom introduced by Queen Victoria to shorten the long time to a late dinner by having cakes at about 5 pm with friends and family.
